The word "graffiti" comes from the Italian word for "scratched."
Why Remove Paint?
Old buildings typically used a single skin wall, (no cavity) with lime mortar which allows the brickwork to breath. In some cases exterior walls have been painted incorrectly which restricts any water ingress from escaping. This in turn leads to internal moisture problems which will only get worse and compromises the structural integrity of the building.
Prior to removal, paint is tested to diagnose iron, water or oil content so that the paint can be correctly removed in the safest way possible.
